Ajax

The Town of Ajax endorsed the Durham Community Energy Plan and partners with the Region to deliver several of the identified climate action items including implementing the Ajax Green Standard.

Aurora

Aurora's Community Energy Plan identifies how energy is used within Aurora and the associated greenhouse gas emissions resulting from that energy use. It identified actions that will need to be implemented to achieve a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of 80% by 2050.

Brampton

Brampton’s Community Energy and Emissions Reduction Plan (CEERP) creates a roadmap that will improve energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, create economic advantage, ensure energy security, and increase Brampton’s resilience to climate change.

Burlington

The City of Burlington has developed a community-based Climate Action Plan. The plan includes seven key program areas to help the community transition away from the use of fossil fuels, particularly for buildings and transportation. Annual progress reports are presented to City Council. An updated plan will be presented to City Council in 2025.

Guelph

The Community Energy Initiative (formerly Community Energy Plan – CEP) is Guelph’s commitment to use and manage energy differently, better, than the city has in the past. The main goal of the CEI is that Guelph will become a Net Zero Carbon community by 2050.

Halton Hills

Halton Hill's Low Carbon Transition Strategy establishes the action pathways necessary to achieving the target set to achieve net-zero carbon by 2030. The plan addresses de-carbonizing every aspect of town-wide GHG emissions, from homes to transportation to industry to agriculture and waste.

Vaughan

The Municipal Energy Planwas updated in 2024. An MEP update will be published annually beginning in 2025, which will include a portion on progress being made to reach emissions reductions targets.

Waterloo Region

TransformWR is Waterloo Region’s community-wide response to the global climate crisis. The document outlines Waterloo Region's long-term strategy to achieve an 80% local greenhouse gas emission (GHG) reduction target (based on 2010 levels), and identifies local action needed to reduce our emissions by 30% by the year 2030. Community Energy Investment Strategy aims to improve and sustain Waterloo Region’s economic competitiveness and quality of life through the coordination of targeted energy investments.

Whitby

The Climate Emergency Response Plan: Phase 2: Mitigation was endorsed by Council at the Regular Council Meeting on Monday, December 18, 2023. The Plan focuses on climate mitigation and identifies the sources of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Whitby and provides guidance and recommendations to reach the Town’s community GHG emissions reduction target of net-zero by 2045. The Town of Whitby will work with the community to commence the actions outlined in the Implementation Plan which actively guides the Plan’s progress from 2024 to 2030.

Windsor

Windsor's Community Energy Plan is aimed at improving energy efficiency; modifying land use planning; reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions; and fostering green energy solutions throughout Windsor, while supporting local economic development. CEP encompasses residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, as well as institutional and transportation energy use and water use.
