| Net Zero Municipal Facilities Commitment/Standard | Corporate Energy Management and Conservation Plan 2019-2023 have a Recommendation Section to get the corporation to Net Zero by 2050, with the initial emissions reduction goal being 45% by 2030. The plan will be updated next year.

3) The most recent State of the Forest Report was prepared in 2021 by York Region where, canopy cover in King Township was measured at 34.3% and woodland cover at 26.5%.
Tree canopy is approaching the recommended range of 36% to 41%. And 26.5%, woodland cover is within the recommended range of 26% to 28%.
An update to the King Forest Study was completed in early 2025. |
