Active Transportation Plan
Halton Hills Active Transportation Master Plan provides planning, design and implementation direction in the form of an on and off-road active transportation master plan. It reflects the significant growth that the Town is experiencing which requires complete, healthy and active community planning for people of all ages and abilities.

Community Climate Change Action / Environment Funds
The Climate Change Investment Fund offers micro-grants to support action by individuals, organizations, and community groups in to support a resilient and low carbon community including planting trees and building pollinator gardens.

Community Adaptation / Resilience Plan
The Town of Halton Hills developed the Climate Change Adaptation Plan (CCAP) in order to minimize the negative impacts of climate change, as well as take advantage of opportunities to strengthen the Town’s resilience to climate change.

Community Emissions Reduction/ Mitigation Plan
Halton Hill's Low Carbon Transition Strategy establishes the action pathways necessary to achieving the target set to achieve net-zero carbon by 2030. The plan addresses de-carbonizing every aspect of town-wide GHG emissions, from homes to transportation to industry to agriculture and waste.

Community GHG Reduction Targets
In response to the Climate Emergency Declaration, the Town of Halton Hills set a target to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) by 2030.
Community Retrofit Program
Retrofit Halton Hills Pilot Program (10 homes) was undertaken to support resident retrofit efforts.

EV Ready Requirements in GDS / Parking By-law
There are points allocated to EV Ready Requirements in the Halton Hills points based GDS.
Green Development Policies (GDS)- Community
Town of Halton Hills Green Development Standards v3 is a point based GDS. All applications must identify the metrics they will implement that achieves a minimum of at least 20 points.

Net Zero Municipal Facilities Commitment/Standard
Climate Emergency Declaration sets a goal for the Town to be net zero by 2030, including corporate facilities and developing plans for each facility to achieve net zero. Current projects include the Town Hall Carbon Design brief and Net Zero Ice Arena. It is estimated a 12% reduction in GHG emissions when the two projects are completed. The Town also has a Low Carbon Transition Strategy - a pathway towards net zero by 2030.

Urban Forest Plans
The Town of Halton Hills approved the Privately-Owned Tree Management Strategy in 2021. This Strategy focuses on enhancing and protecting Halton Hills’ tree canopy.
