Community Climate Change Action / Environment Funds
The Advance Brampton Fund is a community granting program that supports non-profit sector development and provides municipal funding to eligible Brampton-based non-profit or charitable organizations.

Community Adaptation / Resilience Plan
The City of Brampton is in the process of developing its first Climate Change Adaptation Plan. The Climate Change Adaptation Plan will be a five-year plan to make Brampton a more climate-resilient City.
Community Emissions Reduction/ Mitigation Plan
Brampton’s Community Energy and Emissions Reduction Plan (CEERP) creates a roadmap that will improve energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, create economic advantage, ensure energy security, and increase Brampton’s resilience to climate change.

Community EV Strategy
The City of Brampton adopted the Peel Zero Emission Vehicle Strategy.

Community GHG Reduction Targets
The Community Greenhouse Gas Emissions Plans sets a goal for the City of Brampton to reduce community GHG emissions by 30% by 2030 and at least 80% by 2050 (below 2016 levels).

Community Retrofit Program
1) The City of Brampton, together with the City of Mississauga and Town of Caledon, are designing a home energy retrofit program through the Peel Residential Energy Program (PREP). 2) Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Program (SNAP) - The program aligns municipal sustainability priorities with ​community n​eeds, identifies integrated retrofit solutions, and fosters partnerships between public agencies, community organizations, businesses, and residents; currently there are 3 completed projects.

Complete Streets Policy
The City does not have a Complete Street Policy but Action 4-3 from the Active Transportation Master Plan has a Complete Street Recommendations section.

EV Ready Requirements in GDS / Parking By-law
Brampton's Sustainable New Communities Program has a points based system for EV-Ready Requirements. For example, 3 points are given if Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) is provided for 10% of parking spaces. 5 points are given if EVSE is provided to 20% of parking spaces and 2 points are given if at least 50% of the parking spaces are designed and constructed to permit future EVSE installation (e.g. rough-in).
Green Development Policies (GDS)- Community
Sustainable New Communities Program is a point-based system in which development proposals earn points for achieving specific criteria (metrics) organized around the categories of Built Environment, Mobility, Natural Environment & Open Space, and Infrastructure & Buildings. Development applications are required to achieve a minimum score (within the Bronze threshold). As of January 1, 2023 all applicable applications submitted on or after this date will be required to achieve a minimum 'Good' level for the Building Energy Efficiency, Greenhouse Gas Reduction, and Resilience metric (i.e., IB-12). This requirement is in addition to the minimum 'Bronze' score required through the program.

Green Roof Requirements in GDS / By-law
Brampton's Sustainable New Communities Program has a Green Roof metric . For example: 4 points are given if 50% of the rooftop is green; and 6 points are given if 75% of the rooftop is green.
Municipal Fleet Electrification Plan
2021 - 2035 Brampton Sustainable Fleet Strategy encompasses a multi-pronged approach combines best management practices and an electric vehicle phase-in toward achieving 86% tailpipe GHG emissions reduction (from 2019 levels) over the 2021-2035 period.

Net Zero Municipal Facilities Commitment/Standard
Energy and Emissions Management Plan 2019-2024: A Zero Carbon Transition aims to achieve a zero carbon transition for the City’s new and existing corporate facilities, with three key objectives over the next five years to minimize energy intensity and greenhouse gas emissions.

Community Emissions Reductions Progress Report
A Community Emissions Reduction Progress Report will be produced every five years. The first one is expected in 2025/2026.
Urban Agriculture Plans
The City does not have an Urban Agriculture Plan but has a Community Gardens Program.

Urban Forest Plans
The tree planting target is 1 million trees by 2040, and the Brampton One Million Trees Program Strategy sets the actions to achieve it.
